323 Projects is pleased to present Mostly Musing and Some Rants (things I’ve wanted to talk about for 59 years) by David E. Stone. For this exhibition Stone will record audio documenting his musings on a variety of subjects that have fascinated him throughout his lifetime. Visitors who call 323 Projects will find Stone addressing subjects such as why the artist likes gay men, his own art philosophies, eBay, B&W TV, magic, circuses, and his favorite people throughout history. Taken as a whole, these audio testimonials formulate an amusing self-portrait and speak to larger questions of subjectivity, age, wisdom, and privacy.
ABOUT DAVID E. STONE
David E. Stone is a conceptual artist based in Los Angeles who has been active in the visual arts in California for more than thirty years as an artist, gallerist, and curator. Stone’s artistic practice is driven by his fascination with how reality can be perceived, both intellectually and physically. Using materials as diverse as digital prints, paintings, neon sculptures, and installations, Stone’s work ranges from the humorously accessible to the curiously poetic.
